Romans 12:7-9

Jim Becker - Elder

"Wouldn't it be interesting to see God's flowchart!" Such was the comment of Jim Becker's best friend in graduate school at UCLA's Astronomy Department. Life's path has been anything but straight. Beginning with a childhood in Fresno, CA, followed by college years at UCLA and the Univ of Minnesota, during which time Jim became a follower of Christ, and on to life in Colorado (six years) and Virginia (since 1993), God's blessings have abundantly overflowed.

Although he studied Astrophysics, Jim woke up in the nick of time to take a real job at a small engineering firm in Culver City, moving on from there to the Aerospace Corp in LA and Martin Marietta in Denver, CO. Jim met and married Carol, the joy of his life, in Los Angeles (1983), thanks to his eventual mother-in-law's introducing him to her daughter (a story worth hearing!) Geoff was born in LA (1986) and Dianne in Colorado (1988), and Carol home-schooled both to successful college careers at the University of VA.

Jim is currently employed with Lockheed Martin and enjoys reading good books, golf, tennis, and good discussions with college students and young adults. God is good indeed!
