Mary Lou Swiscoski

She taught in a Christian school in Trenton, NJ for six years where she also coached the girls’ basketball team. In the summers she had various jobs from janitor to nurse’s aide to tour bus employee. She later moved to Sterling, VA and taught science, math, yearbook and newspaper for five years. During this time she also ran the aftercare program for 1st-5th graders.

While getting her master’s degree in Teaching English from Bob Jones University, she met her husband to be, Bill Swiscoski. After seeing each other for 36 days spread over 4 years, they were married in August of 1993, and Bill left the cold prairies of Manitoba behind to join his sweetie in the nation’s capital, earned his CPA certification, and is a Senior Associate in the Federal IT Advisory Services with KPMG.

After teaching for a total of 11 years, Mary Lou spent 10 years in non-profit management and is very pleased to be able to bring both skill sets together as she serves at Potomac Baptist Church.
