Membership at Potomac Baptist Church

Membership denotes a formal commitment on the part of the believer to be an integral part of the Potomac Baptist Church family. Membership is a publicly declared pledge on the part of the believer to associate with this local church and to faithfully serve in the ongoing ministry of Potomac Baptist Church.

Qualifications for Membership
• Received the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior
• Baptized as a believer by immersion
• Agree with the Essentials of Faith
• Agree with the Covenant of Membership
• Support the Core Values, Mission, and Vision of Potomac Baptist Church

Process of Membership
• Attend one of our membership classes
• Notify an Elder or pastoral staff member of the desire for membership
• Complete an interview with an Elder or Pastor
• Submit an application for membership
• Meet the qualifications for membership as noted in Article II, Section I, B of the church constitution
• Be approved by the current membership of Potomac Baptist Church at the next scheduled Regular Business Meeting

Covenant of Membership
As bondservants of Jesus Christ in the body of Christ known as Potomac Baptist Church, we covenant with one another to walk worthy of our calling in lowliness, gentleness, and longsuffering and to bear with one another in love, and to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. (Eph. 4:1). This is a covenant of life, love and service and in so fulfilling we shall:

• Invest Ourselves in the life of Potomac Baptist Church
• Strive to Become Like Christ
• Preserve Unity and Harmony
• Support Leadership and Participate
• On Leaving PBC, unite with a church that honors the Lord and teaches His Word.
