The Purpose of a Church

At PBC we have organized the foundational purposes of our church into an arcrostic: NEWS which also coincides with the points of a compass (north, east, west, south). The biblical purposes of our church are the compass points on which our values, vision and programs are based.

Nurture - the church exists to be a fellowship or community of people that ministers to each other. Philippians 2:1-2

Equip - the church exists to train, disciple and equip people for life and service. We teach for transformation, not just information. Ephesians 4:11-13

Worship - we worship God not just with songs, but with our very lives. John 4:23

Share - we take what we have been given and we pass it along to the world. That involves evangelism and missions. Matthew 28:19-20
